Week 35 - The Lords of Chalco

Hi all!

How's it goin? This week was good. Super tiring. It is still hot here, big surprise.

Monday: Long p-day. I went on divisions with Elder Rowberry (fellow LP Knight) because our comps had an appointment. It was fun, but very long. I found this quote last week by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland:

"Some tasks take time. Accept that."

Being a missionary has really helped me with patience. Patience with my companion, investigators, members, and more than anyone, myself.

Tuesday: We had a district meeting today. It was good. I really like learning from other missionaries. Not a ton happened today. We just contacted a ton.

Wednesday: So today I was on divisions with Elder Rowberry's son, Elder Mendez. We killed it. Didn't have many lessons, but we did have a TON of contacts. 32! The mission is the bomb, homies. I get the amazing opportunity every day to talk with random people -- but at the same time, not random because God puts everyone in our path for a reason -- and share this incredible message. :)

Thursday: Hahaha. Nothing really happened today.

Friday: We visited a bunch of people today. One of them was a less-active member. He was baptized 4 years ago and recently stopped going to church, but wants to be active again. I don't want to share a ton, but a quote I like relates to him: "A ship in port is safe, but that's not what ships are made for."

Saturday: Two things I learned today. Things I already knew, but I learned them in interesting and personal ways: First, "If you don't teach with the spirit, you aren't teaching, you're explaining." And second, "Affliction, pain and difficulty are given to us from God so we can receive blessings in the future."

Sunday: It was a good day. The Sabbath is the best. That less active - his name is Jonathan - came! Later, in the evening, we had a zone meeting and we made a goal to have 102 investigators with a baptismal date this week. So please pray for us!

I love y'all! I hope you have a good week and remember to look for ways to bless God's children and share this message.

Week 34 - It's Still Hot

Hey fam and friends,

A shorter one this week. About my subject line: it is still hot here.

We worked really hard and didn't see a lot of fruits come from our labors, but that's ok sometimes. I just wanted to share some parts of a talk I listened to by Jeffery R. Holland called ¨For Times Of Trouble."

"If you are trying hard and living right and things still seem burdensome and difficult, take heart. Others have walked that way before you.

Wherever you go in this Church there will always be somebody to stand by you. That’s part of what it means to be a Latter-day Saint."

READ OR LISTEN TO THIS TALK.

Have a good week! I love y´all!

Week 33 - Mom's Day!

Hey Fam and Friends!

How's life? Good week. Let me tell y'all about it. This week will be shorter... sorry.

Monday: We went to Cuautla and played soccer and volleyball. We got pizza and yeah, it was a party.

Tuesday: Fun day! We went back to Cuautla for a multi-zone meeting. We also had interviews with President. After we got home later, we had an awesome lesson with this guy, Domingo. Both of his parents have died recently and some other stuff happened. We taught him about eternal families and baptisms for the dead. And he committed to a baptismal date! :)

Wednesday: We had a sweet Family Home Evening at the church today. Like 8 investigators came too!

Thursday: We had no plans for today, so we spent the morning doing some weekly planning. We made plans for the afternoon, but no one was home. :(

Friday: We had a lesson with Gustavo, who is 11 years old. When we were teaching him, some of his neighbors (also kids) ran up and asked if we could teach them too. Good day!

Saturday: We had the interview for Fermina and she passed! Baptism tomorrow!

Sunday: We had Fermina's baptism after church, so that was awesome! Later, I talked with my awesome family!! I love y'all! Happy Mother's Day! :)

Have a good week!

Week 32 - Another Week in Jonacatepec

Hey all! So they told me that Jonacatepec was super hot, but it really isn't. And it's starting to rain every night so that's the bomb.

Monday: First  p-day. First zone meeting. It's fine. Afterwards we played basketball at a park. Then we are at this place called "Tortugas." It was pretty dang good. Plus, I got to see Elder Crockett for the first time in 5 months.

Tuesday: So at lunch today one of the daughter's of these people found a butter knife and started threatening me with it. Usually I wouldn't be scared, but the look in her eyes was evil. She really wanted to kill me (she's 9 btw). Then she left and I thought I was good, but she came back with an actual knife, so.... that was terrifying. We also taught this nice old lady and I think she is going to get baptized next week. :)

Wednesday: It was just one of those days. No one was home.

Thursday: We showed Atziri, one of our investigators, the church and taught a lesson. Good lesson. Later we taught 3 people that are so good and they committed to baptism. But they don't live in our area on Sundays. They go to school here and go home on the weekend. My comp got a little sad after, so I talked to him about miracles. Sometimes we are the reason that others have miracles in their lives.

Friday: Really just a ton of walking.

Saturday: Another day of a ton of walking. But this time we actually taught a couple of lessons!

Sunday: Church day! Hermana Fermina - the one that will get baptized next week - came to church! I really like what someone said in testimony meeting: "Do not be ashamed to bear your testimony of God." It's an awesome reminder of why I'm here. It reminds me of a scripture, 2 Nephi 25:26, "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophecy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of sins." NEVER BE AFRAID TO SHARE THIS WONDERFUL AND AMAZING GOSPEL!

I love y'all. Keep being cool people and read the Book of Mormon!

Have a great week!
